History of Stento

Founded in 1946 in Trondheim, Norway, Stento originally manufactured rugged marine radios and shipboard communications. In the 1950's engineering and manufacturing efforts shifted to the production of sophisticated microprocessor controlled "hands-free" communications and began exporting to the USA in the early 1960's. Stento is the world leader in manufacturing advanced audio communications and paging equipment, and is currently developing new products for intercom, telephone and radio paging applications.

Stento USA Makes Name Change to Zenitel USA in 2002

Stento USA, a worldwide supplier and manufacturer of security and critical communications systems, announces their new corporate name, Zenitel USA. The name change is the result of a May 2000 merger between Stento USA’s parent company, STENTO ASA based in Oslo, Norway, and the SAIT Radio Holland company based in Brussels, Belgium. The new corporation is a leading independent system integrator and service supplier in professional communications.
